PUBLIC SERVICES

We issue library cards, check materials out and in, place items on "hold", assist patrons in locating materials, give directions and provide general information about the library and its services.

Library Card Adult Cards
Requirements (one or more of the following):

  • Picture ID with current address
  • Picture ID and mail with current address
  • Picture ID from GA State Patrol
  • Previous card on file
  • Non-resident taxpayer must have receipt of payment of property tax paid in Floyd or Polk County
  • Non-resident working in Floyd or Polk must have proof of employment
  • Replacement - $2.00
  • Damaged card - free

    Youth Cards
    Requirements:
  • Be 0-17 years of age
  • Be accompanied by parent(s)
  • Guardian(s) must take full responsibility for all materials youth checks out
  • Blank forms may be taken home (but parent must come back in with child and present identification or library card)

    Non-Resident Cards
    Requirements:
  • Picture ID with current address
  • Pay an annual $25 fee for library privileges (families may share one card)

    5 Musical Scores
    Materials (except DVDs and Videos) check-out for 2 weeks, with 2 renewals for 2 weeks each.
    DVD's AND VHS VIDEOS CHECKOUT FOR 7 DAYS WITH NO RENEWALS.

    OVERDUE FINES
    Compact discs
    Audio books
    Books on Compact disc
    Musical scores = $.10 per day (Maximum $5.00 per item)

    DVDs, Videos = $.50 per day (Maximum $5.00 per item.)

    Laminating
    Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00 to 4:00. Maximum width is 23".
    Cost .10 per 12" in length.
    Minimum charge $1.00.

    ALL EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE FREE OF CHARGE YOU MUST BE 16 YEARS OLD WITH AN ADULT CARD TO CHECK-OUT IN THE AUDIO VISUAL DEPARTMENT

    • Equipment (except in-house use) check-out is for length of time you will use it, maximum time 1 week (no renewal). Equipment may be reserved up to 6 months in advance.
    Overdue fines: Equipment $1.00 per day
