Computer Classes

A series of FREE computer training classes is offered at Rome/Floyd County Library.
Computer classes are offered monthly free of charge to the public.
CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED TO 12
Participation is first come, first serve.
Classes without a minimum of 3 patrons will be cancelled.

    Introduction to Microsoft Publisher-You will learn the basics of Publsiher. So you can design professional publications, such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, signs etc.

    PowerPoint-This class offers PowerPoint beginners an easy and helpful guide for learning the fundamentals of PowerPoint.
    Excel-This will introduce some of the basic concepts and then demonstrate a couple practical uses.

    Email Basics- What is Email and how it works. Find out how you can set up and use your own G-mail email account.

    HTML Basics(making a webpage)- - We will cover enough HTML(hypertext markup language) for you to be able to create a simple webpage. Designed for the student with little to no working knowledge of HTML.

    Computer and Internet Safety - This course is designed to give a basic foundation of protecting your home computer and staying safe on the internet. In this class, you will learn about many different threats, antivirus programs, firewalls, anti-spyware, Phishing, how to create strong passwords and more.
    Introduction to Digital Cameras - How does a digital camera works?, What is a pixel ?, Types of digital cameras, Connecting your camera to your computer,Taking better pictures and Basic photo editing.

    Beginning Blogging - You will learn how to create you're own blog and will discusses blog terminology.

    The Internet 2- Where to go and what to do- This will class will show you the different web sites that can be helpful and fun. Some of the sites we will learn about include-Health, Travel, Cooking, News, Downloads, Watching TV on your computer, Music and shopping.
    File,Folders and Downloading- Keeping your computer folders and documents in order can play a big part in making your computing life easy. You will learn how to Create a folder, Copy, move, rename, and delete folders. Save a file with a proper and useful name .How to download safely and where to download. All about File Extensions.

    Online Job Search - You will learn about job Networking sites,resume tips and how to attach and e-mail your resume.
